DESCRIPTION:Aim: MDA Development Grants are awarded to senior postdoctoral
  researchers on the brink of becoming independent investigators and are in
 tended as seed money to help launch the scientific programs of promising n
 ew neuromuscular disease researchers.\n \nApplicants are strongly encoura
 ged to submit hypothesis-driven applications on innovative research. Appli
 cations should directly relate to a disease in MDA’s program\, and shoul
 d focus on accelerating therapy development for the disease(s) in question
 . Successful applications will include a training plan which details how t
 he applicant will receive the necessary training and mentorship to transit
 ion to an independent research career.\n\nDuration:        1-3 years
 \n \nFunding:         USD $70’000/year\n \nEligibility: To be e
 ligible to apply for a Develoment Grant\, applicants must:\n\n	Hold a Doct
 or of Medicine (M.D.)\, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)\, Doctor of Science (D
 .Sc.) or equivalent degree (i.e. D.O.)\n	Be qualified to conduct a program
  of original research under the supervision of an Independent Investigator
 \n	Have a strong record of achievement with their postdoctoral mentor\n	Ha
 ve access to institutional resources necessary to conduct the proposed res
 earch project\n	Have a minimum of 18 months of post-degree (Ph.D or M.D.) 
 research laboratory training at the time of application\n	Be no more than 
 60 months (5 years) from receiving their Ph.D or D.Sc.\; or no more than 9
 6 months (8 years) from receiving their M.D.\, D.O.\, or M.D.\, Ph.D. Plea
