DESCRIPTION:Aim:  Research is an integral part of the innovation loop. So
 me of the most exciting research is happening in universities around the w
 orld. The goal of the Microsoft Productivity Research (MPR) RFP is to
  establish new university partnerships to collaborate with Microsoft on
  novel research potentially leading to new capabilities for productivity
  technologies.\n \nProposals are invited on all areas of computing relat
 ed to productivity in the following areas of interest:\n\n	Interaction and
  Sensing\n	Machine Learning and Machine Teaching\n	Attention and Engagemen
 t\n	Collaboration and Human Learning\n\n \nFunding: $250’000\n \nMicro
 soft will provide a payment that has no restrictions on how it is used\, t
 hough it encourages participates to use resources to fund: PhD\, Postdoc\,
  and Technician salaries\, travel to Microsoft\, and hardware/software nee
 ded to conduct the research. A second round of funding pending initial pro
 gress and outcomes may be considered at some point during this collaborati
 on.\n \nDuration: 12-18 months\n \nEligibility: This RFP is not restric
 ted to any one discipline or tailored to any particular methodology. Univ
 ersities are welcome to submit cross-disciplinary proposals if that cont
 ributes to answering the proposed research question(s).\n \nHow to Apply

 r this RFP should provide an initial budget and workplan for the research.
