DESCRIPTION:Aim: The ASAP initiative will accept applications to support m
 ultidisciplinary research teams to form the ASAP Collaborative Research Ne
 twork. ASAP seeks to fund research projects to address key knowledge gaps 
 in the basic mechanisms that contribute to Parkinson’s development and p
 rogression.\n \nApplications must focus on one of the following scientifi
 c themes:.\n\n	Biology of PD-associated Genetics\n	Neuro-Immune Interactio
 ns\n\n \nThis RFA is aimed at investigations focused solely on underlying
  disease biology\, including research aimed at understanding the structure
  and function of the nervous system and related physiological systems. Can
  involve studies performed in vitro\, in animals\, or in humans.\n \nFund
 ing:        max. $3’000’000 / year\n

              \nEligibility: The request for applications is o
 pen to international organizations including public and private non-profit
  groups\, agencies of the U.S. federal government\, and for-profit entitie
 s. Applications must be submitted by multidisciplinary\, multi-institution
 al research teams:\n\n\n	Three to five investigators including a Coordinat
 ing Principal Investigator (PI) and up to four additional Co-Investigators
  (Co-Is)\n	A minimum of two participating institutions (but no more than f
 ive)\n	At least one early career investigator\, within one (1) to seven (7
 ) years of their first independent appointment\, in the position of Co-I\n
 	At least two different disciplines represented on each team\n	All Key Per
 sonnel must hold a doctorate\, such as a PhD\, MD\, or equivalent degree\,
  and be in an independent faculty position or equivalent.\n\n \nHow to Ap
 ply: There is a three-step proposal process: A preproposal is submitted fi
 rst\; it should be composed using the template provided to create an execu
 tive summary of the experimental plan\, research impact\, and team makeup.
  Upload a PDF copy with your online submission. Selected applicants will b
 e invited to submit a full proposal in the second step. Finally\, finalist
 s will be chosen and interviewed (virtually) by ASAP leadership in a third
  step. ASAP is leveraging The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s (MJFF) grants 
 infrastructure for this initiative. All pre-proposals must be submitted th
 rough the MJFF Grant Portal.\n \nDeadline (Pre-proposal): 08 January 2020
