DESCRIPTION:Established in Zurich in 1991 by Prof. Alain Rossier and Ulric
 h Schellenberg\, the International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia (
 IRP) supports excellent basic and clinical research worldwide in the field
  of neurosciences and the regeneration of the spinal cord. Its mission is 
 to overcome paraplegia\, step by step.\n \nThe foundation’s Research Gr
 ants support basic and clinical research into paraplegia or related fields
  in Europe\, namely:\n\n	Basic research in paraplegiology.\n	Clinical - la
 boratory oriented research.\n	Clinical - patient oriented research.\n\n \
 nExamples of eligible research:\n\n	Basic research projects on every aspec
 t of CNS and spinal cord lesions\, nerve regeneration\, trophic support of
  lesioned neurons\, and functional changes induced by lesions\, preferenti
 ally in mammals.\n	Clinical research projects in the fields of diagnosis\,
  acute lesion management including surgery\, neurology\, urology\, rehabil
 itation\, and other areas related to paraplegia.\n\n \nWho can apply: cli
 nicians and scientists of any nationality working in paraplegia and relate
 d fields. Applications from start up groups are welcome. Postdoctoral rese
 archers are not eligible.\n \nFunding & Duration: max. CHF 75’000 for 1
 2 months or max. CHF 150’000 for 24 months.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: Person
 nel costs (academics\, PhD students\, technical staff)\, consumables\, mai
 ntenance and rent of apparatus\, miscellaneous expenditures (only exceptio
 nally and if expenses are well-documented) e.g. field travelling and congr
 esses.\n	Does not cover overheads.\n\n \nDeadline: 31 October 2020\nThe c
