DESCRIPTION:Since 2000\, the Swiss Research Foundation for Electricity and
  Mobile Communication (FSM)\, based at ETHZ\, has been promoting scientifi
 c research into technologies that generate and use ElectroMagnetic Fields 
 (EMF). Examples of these technologies are electric power supply installati
 ons and equipment as well as radio-based services such as mobile telecommu
 nications. EMF is also engaged in the publication and communication of the
  results of its research. It is also a competent point of contact for ques
 tions about EMF for individuals and institutions in business\, politics an
 d society at large.\n \nEvery year\, the foundation launches a call for p
 roposals to supports empirical studies on questions about the perception\,
  acceptance\, or utilization of EMF technologies\, and/or the impact of mo
 bile communication technologies on\, for instance\, human language or beha
 vior. Proposals in the area of risk-communication are also welcome. The pr
 ojects may address both ELF and/or RF technologies. Of special interest ar
 e proposals focusing on 5G.\n \nWho can apply: any applicant employed at 
 public and private research institutions in Switzerland and abroad. Have a
  look at past supported projects.\n \nFunding: max. CHF 150’000\n\n	Eli
 gible costs: personnel and special expenses for fieldwork (equipment\, con
 sumable material\, expenses\, etc.).\n	Does NOT cover standard equipment (
 office equipment\, laboratory apparatus)\, conference trips and overheads.
 \n\n\nDuration: no upper or lower limit.\n \nDeadline pre-proposals: 1 Se
 ptember (every year)\nDecision pre-proposals: mid October\nDeadline full p
 roposals: November (upon invitation)\nDecision full proposals: December\n\
 n	An external body\, the Scientific Committee\, decides on the research fu
 nding awards. The foundation is supported\, among others\, by Swisscom\, S
 unrise and Orange. FSM’s financial backers are not members of the Scient
 ific Committee nor are they informed about the Committee’s deliberations
 .\n	Since its inception in 2000\, FSM has reviewed 187 applications and aw
 arded 46 projects with a total amount of CHF 5.1 million.\n\n \nFor furth
