DESCRIPTION:The European Joint Programming Platform ERA-Net Smart Energy S
 ystems in collaboration with the global Mission Innovation Initiative laun
 ched a Joint Call 2019 ("MICall19") for transnational Research\, Developme
 nt and Innovation projects on integrated energy storage solutions.\n \nTh
 e call for projects focuses on the development of integrated storage syste
 ms and will support solutions answering to identified challenges within th
 is area. It is highly encouraged to identify and involve "need-owners” i
 n the solution development answering to the specified challenge. The call 
 will focus on challenge areas where different types of partners from diffe
 rent parts of society collaborate (e.g. SMEs can collaborate with organisa
 tions and communities) to offer solutions to existing energy systems. "MIC
 all19” will support RDD projects that contribute to the development of s
 ustainable\, integrated storage solutions for both short- and long-term st
 orage within areas such as electrical-\, electrochemical-\, material-\, th
 ermal- and mechanical storage. The total available budget is above € 22 
 Mio.\n \nConsortia should be transnational by nature\, involving at least
  two active partners from two different countries/regions\, participating 
 in the Joint Call 2019. Every project participant is funded by the funding
  organisation of their own country/region according to their specific rule
 s\, for Swiss-based applicants the Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE.\n
  \nSFOE Programmes\nResearch & Development (R&D) Program «Grids»\nPilot
  & Demonstration (P&D) Program\nSee also p33 of the call Guidelines for de
 tails\n \nApplicants are obliged to contact their national/regional fundi
 ng agency during the advisory period\, and at least one month prior to the
  submission of the proposal\, to receive feedback on their proposed projec
 t ideas in terms of scope\, eligibility of partners and desirability of th
 e project proposal depending on national/regional regulations.\n \nDurati
 on: min. 24 months\, max. 36 months\n\nMaximum funding for Swiss-based app
 licants: for R&D projects\, CHF 600’000 (500’000 Euros)\; for P&D\, no
  limit\n \nEligible costs:\n\n	R&D: personnel costs and expenses accordin
 g to the SFOE rates\, up to a maximum of 80%. An adequate share of own and
  third-party contributions (in-kind and/or cash) is expected.\n	P&D: limit
 ed to 40% (exceptionally 60%) of the eligible project costs. Eligible proj
 ects costs cover only the additional project costs (when compared to the c
 osts of implementing an equivalent\, conventional technology or solution) 
 that cannot be amortized over the expected lifetime of the developed insta
