 ou there\,\nThe team of the EPFL Photonics Chapter\n \nAbstract:\n\nWhile
  the information industry based on Moore’s law hits its development limi
 t\, fundamentally new principles for information processing and data stora
 ge need to be discovered and implemented. One promising technology is a qu
 antum computing\, that could spur the development of new breakthroughs in 
 science. I would like to present the quantum optic experiments we are perf
 orming in our lab. Just recently we have demonstrated that the sub-picosec
 ond dynamics of quantum phonons can be measured at room temperature. I wil
 l show the most recent results and discuss the future of the data storage 
 technology in general.
