DESCRIPTION:E-Rare is an ERA-NET initiative aimed at coordinating the rese
 arch efforts of European\, Associated and non-European countries in the fi
 eld of rare diseases and implementing the objectives of the International 
 Rare Disease Research Consortium (IRDiRC). E-Rare is co-financed by the Eu
 ropean Commission (Horizon 2020) and 22 countries\, including Switzerland 
 (via the SNSF).\n\nThe 2020 call on “PRE-CLINICAL RESEARCH TO DEVELOP EF
 FECTIVE THERAPIES FOR RARE DISEASES” focuses on the following topics:\n\
 n	Development of novel therapies in a preclinical setting.\n	Use of diseas
 e models suitable for medicinal product’s development.\n	Development of 
 predictive and pharmacodynamics (PD) biomarkers in a preclinical setting.\
 n	Proof of principle studies fostering an early (pre-clinical) stage of dr
 ug development.\n\n\nProjects shall be interdisciplinary and involve a gro
 up or a single rare diseases affecting no more than 5 in 10’000 persons 
 in the European Community\, EC associated states and Canada.\n\nWho can ap
 ply: \n\n\n	Consortium: 4-6 principal investigators (PIs) from at least 3 
 different participating countries. Exception: you can involve 7-8 PIs if a
 t least 1-2 are based in Czech Republic\, Slovakia\, Hungary\, Lithuania\,
  Poland\, and Turkey and/or are early career researchers. Applicants from 
 academia\, clinical/public health sector\, SMEs and patient advocacy organ
 isations must be eligible for funding by their national funding organisati
