DESCRIPTION:[ SNSF Scientific exchange | funding for scientific events and
  visits ]\n \nThe SNSF programme Scientific Exchanges is aimed at researc
 hers who want to:\n\n	host their own scientific conference\,  workshop or
  meeting in Switzerland \n	invite their colleagues from abroad for a resea
 rch visit to Switzerland or visit their colleagues in another country (sci
 entific visit).\n\n \nWho can apply: only 1 applicant\n\n\n	employed by a
  Swiss research institution for the duration of the grant.\n	work-time per
 centage may lie under 50%\, but should not be lower than 20%.\n	For Scient
 ific events only: PhD is NOT required.\n	For Scientific visits only: both 
 the host and the guest must hold a doctorate or 3 years of research work\,
  and be in a position to carry out research projects under her/his own res
 ponsibility and to lead project staff both scientifically and as personnel
 .\n	No more than two parallel applications and/or Scientific Exchange gran
 ts may be submitted or ongoing per calendar year. Applicants can apply to 
 both a Scientific event and a Scientific visit in the same application.\n\
 n \nFunding:\n\n\n	Between CHF 2’500 and CHF 25’000.\n	Max. CHF 50’
 000 only if you apply for both types of grants in the same application.\n\
 n \nEligible costs for scientific events:\n\n\n	Travel expenses\, food an
 d board costs of participants from abroad provided they make a contributio
 n (talk\, poster\, moderation\, supervision of workshop\, etc.). No more t
 han 1-2 persons per half a day of the event.\n	New! Replacements of SNSF-f
 unded participants/keynote speakers must be communicated to the SNSF befor
 e the start of the event. Otherwise\, their costs will not be eligible.\n	
 You can now ask for child care costs* (up to CHF 200 per day) for room\, b
 oard and travel costs for children* accompanying SNSF-funded participants/
 keynote speakers during the scientific event.\n\n \nEligible costs for sc
 ientific visits:\n\n\n	travel (actual costs) and living costs (flat rate\n
 	You can now ask for child care costs* (up to CHF 1’000 per month) for r
 oom\, board and travel costs for children accompanying the visitor.\n\n \
 n*Child care costs can be requested only for children up to the 4th year o
 f primary school (see Annex 4 of the flexibility grants regulations\, foot
 note at page 2).\n \nDuration:\n\n\n	For Scientific events: 3 months (the
  duration of the actual scientific event must be between 1 and 5 days. How
 ever\, the duration of the grant must be 3 months\, with the starting date
  set on the first day of the month preceding the event and the end date on
  the last day of the month following the event).\n	For Scientific visits: 
 1-6 months.\n\n \nRolling call: apply at least 4 months before the start 
 of the event or visit.\nDecision after usually 2-2.5 months.\n \nFor furt
