DESCRIPTION:Aim: EMBO is an organization of more than 1800 leading researc
 hers that promotes excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. T
 he major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at 
 all stages of their careers\, stimulate the exchange of scientific informa
 tion\, and help build a research environment where scientists can achieve 
 their best work. The EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent postd
 octoral researchers in laboratories throughout Europe and the world. Inter
 national exchange is a key requirement. Now awarding grants for employment
  contracts in EMBC countries\, EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships also support 
 the career development of the fellows through leadership courses and netwo
 rking opportunities\n\nFunding: According to country of host institution\n
 \nDuration: 2 years\n\nEligibility:  Main eligibility criteria:\n\n	Appli
 cants must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent at the start of the fello
 wship.\n	Applicants who already hold a PhD at the time of application are 
 eligible to apply only if they obtained it during the two years prior to t
 he date the application is complete.\n	Applicants must have at least one f
 irst author publication accepted in or published in an international peer 
 reviewed journal at the time of application.\n	All applications must invol
 ve movement between countries (detailed information about mobility require
 ments is listed in the EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships guidelines).\n	Applic
 ations to go to the country in which the PhD was obtained will not be cons
 idered.\n	Applications to return to a laboratory where the candidate has w
 orked in the past for more than six months\, either in one or in several v
 isits will not be considered.\n	Applications for an EMBO Postdoctoral Fell
 owship to be held in the laboratory\, institute or department in which the
  candidate worked to obtain the PhD\, or to work again with the candidate'
 s supervisor\, no matter where the latter is located\, will not be conside
 red.\n	Candidates who have already started working in the host laboratory 
 can apply only if they have been working in the host laboratory for less t
 han six months at the time the application is complete.\n\n\nHow to Apply:
  Applications and supporting documentation (two references\, receiving ins
 titute acceptance) are only accepted via the online application system. Ca
 refully read the FAQs and the EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships guidelines bef
 ore applying. No application can be completed without all the information 
 required\, including the two reference letters and the acceptance letter f
 rom the receiving institute. The date\, according to Central European (sum
 mer) Time (CE(S)T)\, in which the candidates confirm that their applicatio
 n is complete\, is the reference date for eligibility and evaluation.\n\nD
 eadline: Rolling. Applications received before the second Friday in Februa
 ry will be considered in the Spring round\, and those received before the 
 second Friday in August will be considered in the Autumn round. For 2020 t
 hese dates are 14 February and 14 August\, respectively.\n\nFurther inform
