For 2020\, TREE Fund and UAA are see king UARF proposals guided by the prioritized summary of research topics p olled from our wider membership\, prioritized as follows\, with equal cons ideration given to these topics:\n\n Employee\, Contractor and Public Safe ty (including training relevance and quality\, and training frequency)\;\n Service Reliability (including tree failure and tree worker experience)\; and\n Regulatory Compliance (including training and process improvement). \n\n\nWhile TREE Fund and UAA encourage applications that are aligned with these priorities\, both organizations also understand that social\, explo ratory and other research questions may arise. TREE Fund and UAA are thus open to evaluating any proposal related to vegetation management in the ut ility industry.\n\nFunding: max. $50’000\n\nDuration: 1-3 years\n\nEligi bility: UARF may not be used to fund to following types of research:\n\n\n Projects that are primarily municipal tree surveys or assessments\;\n Tre e planting programs\;\n Studies of individual tree species for the primary purpose of agricultural or timber/forest planting yield\;\n Commercial tr ee- or soil-related product testing primarily for the benefit of the compa ny that manufactures the product.\n\n\nHow to Apply: To apply\, send an em ail containing a brief Letter of Inquiry (LOI) of no more than 100 words d escribing your project title and concept to before 01-Mar-2020\, ideally linking your concept to one of the defined 2020 pri ority areas listed above. If your LOI is approved\, TREE Fund will send yo u a numbered application form for your use.
