DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) invi
 tes exceptional early career researchers from across the natural\, biomedi
 cal\, and social sciences and the humanities to join one of their interdis
 ciplinary research programs that address some of the most complex question
 s facing the world today. Scholars’ research interests must be aligned w
 ith the themes of an eligible CIFAR research program. In 2020\, the eligib
 le programs are:\n\n	Child & Brain Development\n	Learning in Machines & Br
 ains\n	Quantum Information Science\n	Quantum Materials\n\n\nCIFAR Azrieli 
 Global Scholars remain at their home institution and country throughout th
 eir two-year term. The research funding associated with the award is admin
 istered through the recipient’s institutional department.\n\nFunding: CA
 D $100\,000\n\nDuration: 2 years\, starting 01-Jul-2020\n\nEligibility: Ap
 plicants must hold a PhD and be within the first five years of a full-time
  academic position (i.e.\, an appointment beginning no earlier than 1 July
  2015). Must be able to demonstrate an outstanding level of research achie
 vement and promise of future impact in their field.\n\nHow to Apply: Appli
 cations are made through an online application system\, and include a Summ
 ary section\, a Detailed section\, and two to three Letters of Reference. 
 Note that the letters of reference must be submitted independently on the 
 platform by the referees\, and are also due by the application deadline. S
 hortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a two-day selection meetin
 g in Toronto\, Canada on June 18-19\, 2020\; shortlisted candidates will b
