DESCRIPTION:Gebert Rüf Stiftung (GRS) was established in 1998 by entrepre
 neur Heinrich Gebert as a science and innovation foundation. Its objective
  is to promote «Switzerland as a top location for business and as a place
  to live». As a private funding agency guided by its mission statement «
 making science effective»\, it supports entrepreneurial projects\, which 
 are committed to achieving an impact.\n\nGRS Cluster funding is endowed wi
 th CHF 0.5 million per year to support outstanding projects\, which contri
 bute to network\, shape and complement GRS topics and areas of activity.\n
 \nThe objective is to lock more intensively into synergies between the act
 ors and achieve the necessary critical mass for effective implementation i
 n societal and business domains.\n\nProjects from all disciplines and from
  a very wide range of contexts are welcome.\n\nSupport criteria for cluste
 r projects:\n\n	Proven networkability\n	Close connection to GRS topics and
  areas of activity\n	Highly innovative and original\n	Exemplary\n	Projects
  of Swiss-wide significance\n	Major potential for initial funding\n\n\nWho
  can apply: applicants employed within a Swiss institution of higher educa
 tion or research (ETH Domain\, university\, university of applied sciences
 ) or an non-profit organization. Non independent researchers at EPFL must 
 join a Letter of Support from the Head of their Unit.\n\nFunding: no upper
  or lower limit.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: Salaries and Material costs\n	Does 
 NOT cover: Infrastructure\, Equipment and Overheads.\n\n\nDeadlines:\n\n\n
 	Informal Access: submit a 1-2 page abstract to idee@grstiftung.ch well ah
 ead of the deadline for proposals\n	Proposals: 1 February\, 1 May\, 1 Sept
 ember and 1 December (every year) at 23:59 (Decision after 3 months)\n	App
 lications: upon invitation\n\n\nThe selection process takes up to 3 months
