DESCRIPTION:The ERA-NET NEURON is a consortium of research funding organiz
 ations supporting basic\, clinical and translational research in the diver
 se fields of disease-related neuroscience. Supported research aims to bett
 er understand brain diseases and their progression in order to pave the wa
 y for new or improved routes for diagnosis and therapy. The consortium is 
 supported by the EU’s H2020 programme.\n\nEvery year\, the participating
  funding organizations (incl. SNSF) launch annual calls to support multina
 tional\, collaborative research projects on disease-related neuroscience.\
 n\nNEURON has launched a call for research on Ethical\, Legal\, and Social
  Aspects (ELSA) of Neuroscience. No empirical neuroscientific or biomedica
 l research can be funded in this call.\n\nWho can apply: \n\n	Internationa
 l consortia composed of minimum 2 and maximum 5 researchers (including par
 tners) from universities\, research institute\, hospitals\, foundations an
 d/or companies from at least 2 different participating countries (besides 
 the partners). No more than two researchers can be from the same country. 
 Partners from other countries may be part of a consortium if they can secu
 re their own funding.\n	Swiss-based applicants: must be eligible for SNSF 
 Project Funding (see EPFL Instructions for SNSF Project Funding) and canno
 t participate in more than one proposal per call. Please contact research@
 epfl.ch to verify your eligibility for the call. Proposals with overlappin
 g funding periods with ongoing SNSF grants are only approved if the resear
 ch projects pursue different goals in the context of this programme. The S
 NSF exclusively funds research conducted for non-commercial purposes.\n\n\
 nDuration: 36 months. No-cost extensions can be granted if allowed by the 
 country-specific regulations.\n\nFunding: depends on the country-specific 
 regulations. The SNSF has allocated CHF 900’000 for approx. 3 projects f
 or this call.\n\nTimeline of the call:\n\n\n	Deadline for proposals: 28 Ap
 ril 2020 at 14:00 CET\n	Swiss applicants must submit the proposal via mySN
 F at the same deadline as the consortium application is submitted to the C
 all Secretariat via the electronic submission system.\n	Decision: mid-Sept
