DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Novartis Foundation for Medical-Biological 
 Research is to foster medical-biological science by means of financial sup
 port for research projects conducted at Swiss universities or research ins
 titutions in the field of medicine and medically oriented biology/biochemi
 stry.\nProjects with a Novartis drug as a research focus are NOT eligible.
 \n\nWho can apply:\n\n	Only Senior researchers can be responsible for the 
 research project and submit an application.\n	Applicants must be employed 
 at a Swiss university or research institution.\n	Applicants must NOT have 
 received a grant from the Foundation within the last 5 years.\n	It is poss
 ible to resubmit a significantly adapted version of a previously rejected 
 application.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: Max. CHF 60’000 for up to 12 month
 s.\n\nEligible costs: \n\n\n	Personnel (excl. the PI’s salary) for resea
 rch staff (i.e. PhD students\, postdocs or other staff)\, based on EPFL sa
 lary scale and including social charges.\n	Instruments (if you request fun
 ding for laboratory equipment\, you must join offers from vendors).\n	Misc
 ellaneous expenses (incl. consumables\, chemicals\, reagents\, cell lines\
 , animals\, eggs).\n	Does NOT cover overheads.\n\n\nDeadlines: 1 February\
 , 15 May and 1 October (every year).\n\n\nFor further information\, please
