DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Polio Research Committee  is calling for research 
 proposals supporting the Polio Endgame Strategy 2019-2023. Research propos
 als supporting the strategic plan may be submitted to the Committee for r
 eview and funding. Preference will be given to proposals developed by GPEI
  partner agencies and their research collaborators. However\, other instit
 utions may also submit proposals if they address our research priorities.\
 n\nThe Committee is looking for well-articulated proposals that propose re
 search projects that will contribute significantly to polio eradication. T
 he PRC funds a variety of studies from many disciplines including basic sc
 ience research\, operational research\, mathematical modeling projects\, a
 nd epidemiological studies/clinical studies.\n\nSome common characteristic
 s of funded proposals include:\n\n	Research is on a topic of significant i
 mportance to the GPEI research agenda\n	Focused and high quality proposal 
 with clearly defined research questions and methodology\n	Principal Invest
 igator (PI) and collaborator (if available) have experience and demonstrat
 ed the ability to successfully conduct relevant research projects.\n	Has s
 ignificant and rapid value to the GPEI.  Project can be completed in 24 m
 onths\, and the findings can be immediately implemented or are scalable fo
 llowing completion.\n\n\nFunding:        Linked to project aims (med
 ian amount: $174K)\n\nDuration:      24 months\n\nEligibility: This ca
 ll for proposals is open to research institutions and private companies. S
 uccessful applicants will be required to conclude an agreement with WHO se
 tting forth the terms applicable to the funding by WHO of the research act
 ivities.\n\nHow to Apply: Submission should include a completed applicatio
 n form and be sent to: polioresearch@who.int . The application form includ
 es five sections: administrative information\, project summary (2 pages)\,
  detailed research proposal (20 pages max.)\, budget\, and final questions
