DESCRIPTION:Established in Munich in 2002\, EGU\, the European Geosciences
  Union\, is Europe’s premier geosciences union\, dedicated to the pursui
 t of excellence in the Earth\, planetary\, and space sciences for the bene
 fit of humanity\, worldwide.\n\nThe EGU Galileo Conferences address well-f
 ocused cutting-edge topics at the frontier of geosciences research. A limi
 ted number\, typically about 100\, internationally recognised scientists m
 eet for 3 to 5 days to discuss and debate issues at the forefront of the d
 iscipline. The conferences are informal: the state-of-the-art is outlined 
 in keynote presentations designed to trigger in-depth discussion of import
 ant aspects of the conference topic. Usually about 50% of the conference t
 ime is dedicated to debate and dialogue\, culminating in a final round tab
 le discussion where future research directions are included. Since Galileo
  Conferences provide an open atmosphere for sharing the latest research re
 sults\, presentations and discussions are treated confidentially\, unless 
 otherwise agreed.\n\nWho can apply: members of the European Geosciences Un
 ion (eligibility\, fees and application).\n\nDuration: typically 3-5 days 
 between March 2021 and February 2022.\n\nFunding: EUR 5000 are allocated t
 o support the participation of early career scientists and up to EUR 3000 
 to web hosting. EGU will cover a potential deficit of the event (note that
  any potential benefit will be credited to EGU). In addition\, it will pro
 vide conference organisation tools including web hosting\, as well as the 
 abstract\, programme and registration management\; as well as comprehensiv
 e organisational support (e.g. venue\, poster boards\, catering\, Wi-Fi fa
 cilities\, etc.).\n\nDeadline: 29 February 2020\nDecision: by end of June 
 2020\nStart of the conference: within the 12 months after March 1 of the f
