DESCRIPTION:Aim: Facebook invites academics to respond to this call for re
 search proposals for measuring the value of economic impact in the digital
  economy. Topics of interest for this request for proposals (RFP) include\
 , but are not limited to the following:\n \n\n	A taxonomy of the digital 
 economy\, including sub-sectors within the digital economy\n	\n		The demar
 cations between the analog and digital economies\n		Shortcomings (if any) 
 of national accounts and other official statistics of GDP\n	\n	\n	Theoreti
 cal models of economic impact of the digital economy\n	\n		How to obtain c
 ausal impacts and/or identify biases found in non-causal estimates\n		Inco
 rporate the feedback effects due to the multi-sided nature of platforms\n	
 	What needs to be solved for in order to estimate the model\n	\n	\n	Empiri
 cal application of theoretical models of causal economic impact\n	\n		The 
 biases (if any) present in reduced-form empirical model\n		Limitations of 
 the model and results\, including in scope (geographic\, size of business)
  due to data availability or other issues\n	\n	\n\n\nFacebook is keenly in
 terested in supporting broader research efforts in this topic and therefor
 e the scope of the RFP is not limited in application to Facebook apps and 
 technologies. We encourage research teams around the world to apply with p
 roposed projects of an empirical and theoretical nature\; although\, theor
 etical papers should also consider how measurements might be empirically e
 stimated. Successful proposals will demonstrate innovative and compelling 
 research that has the potential to advance science and understanding in th
 e topic areas and provide value to policymakers\, practitioners\, and orga
 nizations working in these areas.\n\nFunding:         USD $100’00
 0\n\nDuration:        1 year\n\nEligibility:  Applicants must be cu
 rrent full-time faculty at an accredited academic institution that awards 
 research degrees to PhD students\, and they must be the Principal Investig
 ator on any resulting award. Awards must comply with applicable U.S. and i
 nternational laws\, regulations\, and policies.\n\nHow to Apply: Applicant
 s should submit a project summary detailing what contribution their resear
 ch is expected to make\, how the research domain will benefit from the wor
 k\, and a project timeline. In addition\, a budget description\, a CV for 
 each involved researcher\, a list of previous collaborations with Facebook
 \, and organizational details should be included. For any assistance on th

 Office. Budgets should be formulated to include 5% overhead (the maximum a
 llowed in the program guidelines)\, as well as funds for travel for the Pr
