DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1996\, the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation supports res
 earch into genetic diseases with intellectual disability worldwide. \n\nTh
 is year’s spring call (deadline: 6 March 2020) is dedicated to both Down
  syndrome and other rare intellectual disabilities from genetic origin suc
 h as Fragile X\, cri du chat\, Rett\, Williams-Beuren\, Prader-Willi\, Ang
 elman\, Smith-Magenis and other syndromes\, and will not exceed 50% of the
  total amount of the annual global grant. Autism not linked to above disea
 ses is out of this call for grants.\n\nThe Foundation supports clinical (p
 rioritized)\, basic\, translational and epidemiological research\, neurobi
 ology\, and pharmacology including animal pharmacology\, genetic\, genomic
 \, iPSCs\, and neuropsychology techniques or data analysis.\n\nWho can app
 ly:\n\n	researchers anywhere in the world.\n	holding a long term academic 
 appointment in a hospital\, university or research laboratory.\n\n\nFundin
 g and duration: \n\n\n	Advanced grants (2-4 grants per year): max. EUR 80
 ’000 for up to 24 months for larger breakthrough projects with prelimina
 ry data.\n	Pilot or exploratory grants: max. EUR 40’000 for up to 24 mon
 ths for early stage experiments built on preliminary data\, or to ancillar
 y projects to primary larger projects. Clinical projects could benefit fro
 m more funding.\n	Conferences\, workshops and courses.\n\n\nEligible costs
 : personnel costs (up to 50% of the grant)\, equipment\, materials\, 10% o
 verhead\, administrative costs/services\, travel and meeting.\n\nDeadline:
  6 March 2020 \nReview by the Scientific Advisory Board: mid-June 2020\nDe
