 survey some local and global aspects of Weil-Petersson geometry of Teichmu
 ller spaces\, where the Weil-Petersson metric is the canonical L^2 metric 
 on the space of hyperbolic metrics on a Riemann surface. The Weil-Petersso
 n metric is not complete\, but it is so-called CAT(0) space\, which featur
 es some good features from the viewpoint of  convex geometry.
