DESCRIPTION:Aim: Facebook Research is following up on the 2019 Statistics 
 for Improving Insights and Decisions research awards to foster further inn
 ovation in this area and to deepen our collaborations with academia. Exter
 nal researchers can submit proposals to address challenges in applied stat
 istics that have direct applications for producing more effective insights
  and decisions for data scientists and researchers. Facebook has a large\,
  active and diverse community of practitioners\, so we are interested in a
  varied set of statistical topics\, including but not limited to experimen
 tation\, forecasting\, predictive modeling\, survey and ground truth model
 ing and sampling.\n\nThe following are some specific examples of topics th
 at are important to Facebook\, but we will gladly review proposals for are
 as that are not listed below.\n \n\n	Learning and evaluation under uncert
 ainty\n	Statistical models of complex social processes\n	Causal interferen
 ce with observational data\n	Efficient sampling and prevalence measurement
 \n	Design and analysis of experiments\n	Anomaly detection\n	Interpretabili
 ty techniques for AI models\n\n\nFacebook is pleased to invite faculty to 
 respond to this call for research proposals. In order to support academic 
 work that addresses our challenges and opportunities while producing gener
 alizable knowledge\, Facebook is pleased to offer six research awards of u
 p to $50K each. Awards will be made as unrestricted gifts to the principal
  investigator’s host university.\n\nFunding:         USD $50’00
 0\n\nEligibility:  Applicants must be current full-time faculty at an acc
 redited academic institution that awards research degrees to PhD students\
 , and they must be the Principal Investigator on any resulting award. Awar
 ds must comply with applicable U.S. and international laws\, regulations\,
  and policies.\n\nHow to Apply: Proposals should include a summary of the 
 project (1-2 pages) \, a draft budget description (1 page)\, CVs of all in
 volved researchers\, administrative information about the institution\, an
 d a list of 1-2 keywords. For any assistance on the organizational details

 e formulated to include 5% overhead (the maximum allowed in the program gu
