DESCRIPTION:Fondation Botnar was established in Basel in 2003 by Marcela B
 otnar\, the wife of Octav Botnar\, the founder of Datsun and Nissan UK and
  a philanthropist. The Foundation’s core purpose is to improve the healt
 h and wellbeing of children and young people in growing urban environments
  around the world. To pursue this objective\, the Foundation connects dive
 rse players\, investing in digital solutions and jointly developing sustai
 nable and scalable business models.\n\nThe Foundation has launched a new c
 all for implementation grants titled “A call for innovative proposals th
 at leverage data and frontier technologies for the health and wellbeing of
  young people”.\n\nThe call is aimed at supporting long-term implementat
 ion projects that generate scalable impact. Projects must leverage the com
 bined potential of frontier technologies\, including artificial intelligen
 ce\, innovative digital tools\, and data-based platforms to advance the he
 alth and wellbeing of young people living in cities in low- and middle-inc
 ome countries.\n\nThematic areas:\n\n	Preventative and data-driven interve
 ntions that address the social\, environmental\, and behavioral determinan
 ts of health and wellbeing.\n	Inclusive and participatory learning in the 
 21st century.\n\n\nGeographical focus: \n\n\n	Geographical focus areas for
  this call are urban environments in Romania\, Ghana\, Senegal\, Egypt\, M
 orocco\, Tanzania\, India (Rajasthan or Odisha)\, Vietnam\, Colombia\, Ecu
 ador or Indonesia.\n	Projects having multiple implementation sites should 
 have at least 50% of the budget dedicated to implementation in one or more
  of the above countries or states.\n	Projects targeting implementation in 
 rapidly growing secondary cities will be preferred.\n\n\nWho can apply: \n
 \n\n	The PI should be registered as a not-for-profit organisation\, a publ
 ic institution or a reputed academic university or research institution in
  the country of implementation and should partner with technology\, regula
 tory\, government and other implementation partners\, as required.\n	The F
 oundation encourages for-profit startups\, social enterprises and institut
 ions\, and NGOs not registered in the country of implementation to apply i
 n a service provider\, advisory\, implementation research support and capa
 city enhancement role to the lead applicants.\n	Applicants pooling require
 d expertise in a consortium (for example a public-private partnership) are
  welcome to apply and will be preferred.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: the prop
 osals are expected to have a minimum funding volume of CHF 200\,000 and a 
 duration of 2-5 years. The total available amount available for this call 
 is CHF 10 million.\n\nAdditional requirements: all applying projects will 
 be expected to have a good understanding of secure consent and data manage
 ment principles and be in compliance with any local data protection laws a
