DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is committed to 
 alleviating the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants that
  will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research. The Found
 ation’s NARSAD Young Investigator Grant (YI) program enables promising i
 nvestigators to either extend their research fellowship training or to beg
 in careers as independent research faculty. The program is intended to fac
 ilitate innovative research opportunities and supports basic\, as well as 
 translational and/or clinical investigators. All research must be relevant
  to the Foundation’s understanding\, treatment and prevention of serious
  psychiatric disorders such as: schizophrenia\; bipolar\; mood and anxiety
  disorders\; or early onset brain and behavior disorders.\n\nDuration:  
     2 years\n\nFunding:        $35’000/year\nThe foundation all
 ows considerable flexibility in the use of funds: equipment\, stipends\, e
 tc. are all acceptable as long as the support is in service of the NARSAD 
 YI Grant research project.\n\nEligibility: Applicant must hold a doctoral 
 level degree and already be employed in research training\, or be in a fac
 ulty research position. The YI Grant is intended to support advanced post-
 doctoral fellows\, instructors and assistant professors (or equivalent). T
 he applicant must have an on-site mentor or senior collaborator who is an 
 established investigator in areas relevant to psychiatric disorders.\n\nHo
