DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Alzheimer's Association International Research Gran
 t Program funds investigations to advance our understanding of Alzheimer's
  disease\, identify new treatment strategies\, improve care for people wit
 h dementia and further our knowledge of brain health and disease preventio
 n. The Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowship award is intended to
  support exceptional researchers who are engaged in their post-graduate wo
 rk (i.e. postdoctoral fellows)\, before they have their first independent 
 faculty positions.\n\nFunding:        $175’000\n\nDuration:    
   3 years\n\nEligibility: Applications to the program will be accepted fr
 om postdoctoral fellows with full-time positions at their respective insti
 tution who have less than 10 years of research experience after receipt of
  their doctorate or other terminal degree. Individuals who have a position
  of an Assistant Professorship or above are not eligible. The Principal In
 vestigator must commit to a 50% effort toward the proposed project each fu
 nding year. Each PI must list a mentor who will follow his/her project.\n\
 nThe sister program AARF-D is available for applicants who have been deter
 mined to be scientists from underrepresented groups in biomedical and beha
 vioral research on a national or institutional basis. For more guidance\,

 n process begins with a letter of intent\, which can be submitted on propo
 salCENTRAL. First-time users must register and fill out a Professional Pro
 file in proposalCENTRAL to begin the LOI/application process. If EPFL will

 Selected applicants will be requested to submit full applications. More de
 tails on required contents for full proposals can be found on pages 32-33 
 of the 2020 program announcement. The application must include a two/three
 -page statement from the selected mentor that includes information on his 
 or her research qualifications\, experience as a research supervisor and c
 ommitment to the applicant. This statement will be a significant part of t
