DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) announced the launch
  of a stakeholder consultation in preparation of the first 2020 call withi
 n the new funding program on SWiss Energy research for the Energy Transiti
 on (SWEET).\n\nSWEET is designed for the period from 2021 to 2032 and aims
  at facilitating transdisciplinary research and innovation activities with
  a clear focus towards Switzerland’s Energy Strategy 2050 and the countr
 y’s climate policy goals. SWEET spans the innovation cycle from applicat
 ion-oriented basic research to preparations for deployment. It targets con
 sortia that work together over 6-8 years to pursue portfolios of interrela
 ted\, transdisciplinary projects. Collaborations of research institutions 
 with the private and the public sector are particularly encouraged.\n\nUnt
 il March 24th 2020\, researchers are invited to propose potential research
  topics for the first thematic Call 1-2020\, under the guiding theme «Int
 egration of Renewables into a Sustainable and Resilient Swiss Energy Syste
 m». Topics need to be of sufficient scope to be addressed through a portf
 olio of research projects as well as pilot and demonstration projects. The
  proposals shall be submitted by predefined consortia\, not by single labo
 ratories.\n\nParticipation in the consultation is not compulsory. However\
 , submitting ideas will increase the chances of having your research topic
  represented in the upcoming call.\n\nBased on the proposed research topic
 s\, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy will define the first SWEET call fo
 r proposals\, which is expected to open in June 2020 (funding decisions fo
 r the first quarter of 2021).\n\n\nAnticipated funding for Call 1-2020\n- 
 35 to 45 Million CHF\n- 1 to 5 successful consortia\n- 6 to 8 year period\
 n\nDeadline of the consultation phase: 24 March 2020\n\n\nSubmission:\nSub
