DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation 
 (SERI) has commissioned ETHZ as Leading House for bilateral research colla
 boration with the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in all scientific discip
 lines.\n\nETHZ and CSC run the China – Exchange of Young Researchers Pro
 gramme for applicants based in Switzerland and China who\, after an initia
 l contact set up at a symposium\, workshop or alike\, want to start resear
 ch activities with their counterparts by:\n\n	Hosting young Chinese schola
 rs in Switzerland for 6-24 months AND\n	Sending young Swiss scholars to Ch
 ina for max. 12 months.\n\n\nWho can apply:\n\n\n	the Swiss Main Applicant
  must be a senior researcher holding a permanent position at an eligible S
 wiss institution. Note: The Chinese and Swiss partners must have set up in
 itial contacts during a symposium\, workshop\, for a publication\, the sub
 mission of a joint research proposal or alike.\n	The young scholars must b
 e PhD students or post-doctoral researchers registered/employed at an elig
 ible institution in Switzerland or China.\n\n\nFunding: The CSC will provi
 de a scholarship in accordance to the regulations of the Chinese governmen
 t (CHF 2100 per month for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers includ
 ing health insurance\, and a return international air fare to Switzerland)
 . The Swiss side will top up the scholarship to CHF 2500 per month (for bo
 th PhD students and postdocs). If the visiting scholars (academic guests) 
 receive employee status in the Swiss institute\, the Swiss side will pay f
 or social costs (AHV\, etc.) up to CHF 250 per month in addition.\nDuratio
 n: 6-24 months\n\nDeadline: 30 April 2020\n\n\n	Applications must be submi
 tted in parallel by the Swiss Main Applicant to ETHZ (as per p.3 of the ca
 ll document) and by the Chinese applicant to CSC (https://bg.csc.edu.cn/Do
