DESCRIPTION:Established in Lausanne in 1999\, FondAction contre le Cancer 
 supports applied cancer research for the benefit of patients\, particularl
 y in Switzerland. The foundation offers 2 funding instruments:\n\nGRANTS \
 n\n	What: For collaborative applied research projects related to cancer. T
 he research topic can be pre-clinical or clinical or of public health. Pri
 ority will be given to projects involving the development of innovative th
 erapies for patients.\n	Who can apply: team of applicants. The main applic
 ant (MD\, PhD\, nurse or else) must be Swiss or be employed by a Swiss ins
 titution and should demonstrate the ability to lead and finalize an innova
 tive research project.\n	Funding: no upper or lower limit. The grant does 
 NOT cover the main applicant’s salary. You must have and mention other s
 ources of funding.\n	Duration: max 36 months.\n\n\nYOUNG INVESTIGATOR GRAN
 TS\n\n\n	What: Support to young researchers in the field of oncology in Sw
 itzerland\, to help them at the beginning of their academic career. The re
 search topic can be pre-clinical or clinical or of public health.\n	Who ca
 n apply: the young investigator must be an MD\, a PhD in biology or health
  care\, be Swiss or be employed by a Swiss institution\, < 40 year old\, h
 ave the support of his/her supervisor and the opportunity to build a caree
 r at the institution of employment.\n	Funding: CHF 100’000. The grant do
 es NOT cover the main applicant’s salary.\n	Duration: 24 months.\n\n\nDe
 adline: 15 September (every year) for both instruments.\nProposals are eva
 luated by the foundation’s scientific committee and external experts.\n\

 topics: childhood cancer survivors\, lymphoma\, the role of sport during c
 hemotherapy\, breast cancer\, melanoma\, radiotherapy\, cancer care and ge
