DESCRIPTION:Messel Bursaries are funded by the Messel Trust Fund for PhD s
 tudents to support their attendance at meetings and/or laboratory visits f
 or activities related to chemical science (including all life sciences)\, 
 engineering and technology.\n\nWho can apply:\n\n	PhD students who are in 
 the early stages of their career\; typically this will be up to 10 years a
 fter completion of first degree\, or 10 years after starting a first posit
 ion in business\, science or engineering.\n	Preference will normally be gi
 ven to those wishing to travel outside their country of residence\, especi
 ally if they wish to work in a laboratory abroad.\n	Funding will not be gi
 ven for visits which are part of the normal course of a co-sponsored PhD (
 e.g. visiting the partner site).\n	Applications will not be considered fro
 m those who have previously received an AJ Banks\, Messel\, Leverhulme or 
 Richardson travel bursary.\n	Applicants must be presenting a paper/poster 
 if attending a conference.\n	Applications will only be considered from SCI
  student or standard members - SCI travel bursaries are not available to S
 CI e-members or non-members.\n\n\nDeadlines:\n\n\n	31 March (for travel be
 tween 1 July and 31 December)\n	31 October (for travel between 1 January a
