DESCRIPTION:Aim:  Microsoft actively seeks to foster greater levels of di
 versity in our workforce and in our pipeline of future researchers. We are
  always looking for the best and brightest talent and celebrate individual
 ity. The Microsoft EMEA PhD Award is aimed at PhD students in computing re
 lated fields in their 3rd year or beyond at universities in Europe\, the M
 iddle East\, and Africa (EMEA).\n\nAward recipients will receive $15\,000 
 USD for academic year 2020–21 to help them complete research as part of 
 their doctoral thesis work. Microsoft will arrange and pay for travel and 
 accommodations for award recipients to attend the PhD Summit. The two-day 
 workshop is held at one of the Microsoft Research labs in the fall. It w
 ill provide award recipients an opportunity to present their research\, me
 et with Microsoft researchers in their research area and receive career co
 aching. Finally\, award recipients will also  be offered an internship at
  Microsoft Research’s Cambridge lab.\n\nEligibility criteria:  \n\n	PhD
  students must be enrolled at a university in EMEA (Europe\, Middle East\,
  Africa) and their research must be closely related to our research themes
  at Microsoft Research Cambridge:\n	\n		All Data AI\n		Cloud Infrastructur
 e\n		Confidential Computing\n		Future of Work\n		Game Intelligence\n		Heal
 thcare Intelligence\n		Biological Computation\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	PhD students m
 ust be in their third year or beyond in a PhD program to qualify for this 
 award. Funding is for use only during their time in the PhD program\; it c
 annot be used for support in a role past graduation\, such as a postdoc or
  faculty position. Those interested in receiving this award will need to c
 onfirm their PhD program starting month and year\, as well as their expe
 cted graduation month and year.\n	PhD students must continue to be enrolle
 d at the university in the fall of 2020.\n\n\nHow to Apply: Via the online
  portal\, applicants should submit a reference letter form and proposal fo
 rm. All data should be collected before starting the forms\, as they canno
 t be saved. Note that reference letters must be requested by 01 April\, no
