DESCRIPTION:The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is a the
 matic organisation of the International Science Council (ISC). SCAR is cha
 rged with initiating\, developing and coordinating high quality internatio
 nal scientific research in the Antarctic region (including the Southern Oc
 ean)\, and on the role of the Antarctic region in the Earth system.\n\nWit
 h its 2020 Fellowship Call\, SCAR offers 3-4 fellowships to PhD students\,
  or Postdocs within five years of having completed a PhD on the day of the
  deadline for applications\, to undertake research in line with SCAR's sci
 ence and research groups at an institute in one of the 44 SCAR Member Coun
 tries.\n\nWho can apply: \n\n	PhD students or within 5 years of finishing 
 PhD\;\n	Visiting an Antarctic research facility in or run by a SCAR membe
 r country\, which is different from applicant's (a) country of origin and 
 (b) current country of residence\;\n	Should contribute to the objectives o
 f one or more of SCAR’s science groups\, including the Humanities and S
 ocial Sciences group\, and/or the Scientific Research Programmes.\n\n\nFun
 ding & Duration: \n\n\n	up to USD 15K for 1 year\;\n	Home institute to bea
 r in-home country costs (e.g. visa costs\, domestic travel)\;\n	Host insti
 tute to waive bench fees\, if any.\n\n\nDeadline: 26 August 2020\nPlease c

  institutional signature of the “Home Institute Agreement for an Applica
 tion for SCAR Fellowship”\, which must be joint to your application.\n\n
