DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Peer-Reviewed M
 edical Research Program (PRMRP) Awards. The PRMRP Discovery Award supports
  innovative\, non-incremental\, high-risk/potentially high-reward research
  that will provide new insights\, paradigms\, technologies\, or applicatio
 ns. Studies supported by this award are expected to lay the groundwork for
  future avenues of scientific investigation. The proposed research project
  should include a well-formulated\, testable hypothesis based on a sound s
 cientific rationale and study design.\n\nRelevance to the healthcare needs
  of military Service members\, Veterans\, military beneficiaries\, and/or 
 the American public is a key feature of this award. Applications are requi
 red to include an explanation of how the proposed project has relevance to
  military health.\n\nAll applications for PRMRP funding must specifically 
 address at least one of the Topic Areas as directed by Congress and have d
 irect relevance to military health. The FY20 PRMRP Topic Areas are listed 
 at the end of this announcement.\n\nFunding:        max. $200’000\
 n\nDuration:      2 years\n\nEligibility: Applicants from internationa
 l organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no c
 itizenship restrictions. Early career investigators\, including postdoctor
 al fellows (or equivalent)\, are eligible to be named as the Principal Inv
 estigator (PI) on the application.\n\nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are s
 ubmitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact informati
 on\, a letter of intent\, and a list of collaborators and key personnel as
  suggested on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) will be made
