DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Peer-Reviewed M
 edical Research Program (PRMRP) Awards. The PRMRP Focused Program Award is
  intended to optimize research and accelerate solutions to a critical ques
 tion through a synergistic\, multidisciplinary research program.\n\nKey as
 pects of this award include:\n\n	Overarching Challenge: Focused Program Aw
 ard applications must describe a unifying\, overarching challenge that wil
 l be addressed by a set of research projects.\n	Research Projects: Applica
 tions shall include multiple\, distinct research projects led by individua
 l project leaders that address complementary aspects of the overarching ch
 allenge. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a minimum of four re
 search projects\; additional studies are allowed.\n	Research Team: The ove
 rall effort will be led by a Principal Investigator (PI) with demonstrated
  success in leading large\, focused projects.. The research team assembled
  by the PI should be highly qualified and multidisciplinary\, with identif
 ied project leaders for each of the complementary and synergistic research
  projects.\n\n\nRelevance to the healthcare needs of military Service memb
 ers\, Veterans\, military beneficiaries\, and/or the American public is a 
 key feature of this award. Applications are required to include an explana
 tion of how the proposed project has relevance to military health.\n\nAll 
 applications for PRMRP funding must specifically address at least one of t
 he Topic Areas as directed by Congress and have direct relevance to milita
 ry health. The FY20 PRMRP Topic Areas are listed at the end of this announ
 cement.\n\nFunding:        max. $7’200’000\n\nDuration:     
  4 years\n\nEligibility: Applicants from international organizations or in
 stitutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no citizenship restrictio
 ns. PI applicants must be independent investigators at or above the level 
 of Full Professor (or equivalent). Project leaders for each of the complem
 entary and synergistic research projects must be at or above the level of 
 Assistant Professor (or equivalent).\n\nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are
  submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact informa
 tion\, a preproposal narrative\, and a list of collaborators and key perso
 nnel as suggested on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) will
