DESCRIPTION:EIT Food is an initiative of the European Institute of Innova
 tion and Technology (EIT)\, part of Horizon 2020 framework. Since 2017 it 
 has been working to encourage positive changes on the global Food Systems\
 , to help make them more sustainable\, safe\, efficient and inclusive.\n\n
 EIT Food is a consortia-based\, bottom-up co-funding program with a total 
 budget of Co- € 600 million (2017-2024). It helps financing projects of 
 3 distinct nature: Innovation (joint research programs)\, education (conte
 nt creation) and business creation (entrepreneurs and start-ups developmen
 t)\n \nIt gathers 79+ partners across Europe such as leading companies\
 , research and education institutions or cities. They all support outreach
  and cover the complete value chain from farming to transformation\, distr
 ibution\, retailing\, catering\, consumer services and recycling. EPFL ha
 s been a core member of the association since the very first day. Therefor
 e\, EPFL researchers are fully eligible for EIT Food calls and funding for
  selected project proposals.\n \nEIT Food opened a call for proposal 2021
 . This call describes the focus of the call\, the evaluation process\, the
  rules and eligibility as well as timeline for the application process.\n
  \nThematic areas of the Call for Proposals 2021\n(some of which are more
  highly relevant to EPFL researchers):\n\n	Sustainable Agriculture (includ
 ing precision agriculture)\n	Targeted Nutrition\n	Digital Traceability\n	C
 ircular Food systems\n	Alternative Proteins\n	Sustainable Aquaculture\n\n\
