DESCRIPTION:The University of Geneva (UNIGE) has been mandated by the Swis
 s State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Innovation (SERI) as Lead
 ing House for cooperation in Science and Technology between Switzerland an
 d Russia.\n\nIn this role\, UNIGE has launched a Call for joint Research P
 reparation Grants (RPG) between Switzerland and Russia in all disciplines.
 \n\nResearch Preparation Grants are intended to allow first contacts and i
 nteractions between teams of Russian and Swiss researchers\, leading up to
  joint applications for calls to be launched by the SNSF with its Russian 
 counterparts\, or other funding options.\n\nGiven the COVID-19 situation\,
  maximum flexibility will be given in relation to the project’s implemen
 tation.\n\nWho can apply:\n\n	The PI must be from a Swiss institution and 
 the collaborating partner from a Russian institution.\n	Applications by do
 ctoral students and postdoctoral scientists must be submitted by their sup
 ervisors.\n	Collaborating partners must be affiliated with a university or
  a public research institute from the partner country. The collaborating p
 artner must hold a faculty or senior scientist position or a doctoral degr
 ee (Ph.D. or equivalent) with several years of research experience.\n	To m
 ake sure the exchanges are not limited to individuals and to warrant mid-t
 erm perspectives\, applications by teams of at least two persons per count
 ry\, including young researchers\, are encouraged.\n\n\nFunding & Duration
 : up to CHF 20’000 for 24 months.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: travel and accom
 modation costs for program coordinators and participants\, catering\, meal
 s\, material or venue hire\, consumables and publication costs. Consumable
 s and publication costs cannot constitute more than 20% of the budget.\n	D
 oes not cover: conference registration fees\, salaries\, scholarships\, fe
 es related to student exchanges\, fees related to the participation of thi
 rd parties\, internet and telephone costs\, and overheads.\n	In-kind contr
 ibutions: both the Swiss applicant and the Russian partner are required to
  make in-kind (e.g. work hours\, usage of office or laboratory equipment\,
  field visits\, etc.) contributions.\n\n\nDeadline: 16 June 2020\nDecision
