DESCRIPTION:Summary of the program\nERC Advanced Grants are for establishe
 d\, leading scientists who seek funding for ambitious research projects. T
 he proposed research should address important challenges\, introduce novel
  concepts and approaches and lead to significant breakthroughs.\nThe ERC A
 dvanced Grant call 2020 is the last one in the framework of the current Eu
 ropean research program “Horizon 2020”. Since the status of Switzerlan
 d for the upcoming European research program “Horizon Europe” is still
  uncertain\, applications for this year’s call are recommended in case a
 pplicants are prepared.\n\nWho can apply\nApplicants to the ERC Advanced G
 rants are expected to be outstanding research leaders with a track record 
 of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. They should be 
 exceptional leaders in terms of originality and significance of their rese
 arch contributions.\n\nFunding & Duration\nAn amount of EUR 2.5 million ca
 n be claimed for a period of 5 years. An additional EUR 1 million may be r
 equested for “start-up” if moving from a third country\, the purchase 
 of major equipment\, access to large facilities and/or major experimental 
 and field work costs.\n\nSubmission deadline\nThe 2020 call opened on May 
 14th with a deadline for proposal submissions on the 26th of August this y
