DESCRIPTION:The Volkswagen Foundation has launched a flash call titled “
 Corona Crisis and Beyond – Perspectives for Science\, Scholarship and So
 ciety” to support research projects from all disciplines whose findings 
 not only contribute directly to overcoming the Corona crisis\, but can als
 o provide impetus for overcoming major societal challenges in the medium t
 o long term.\n\nThis call is not confined to any particular subject area a
 nd invites applications from life\, natural and engineering sciences as we
 ll as social sciences and the humanities.\n\nThe Foundation especially wel
 comes:\n\n	Projects that – in light of the current pandemic – challeng
 e or question established social assumptions or existing scientific paradi
 gms.\n	Interdisciplinary approaches and the integration of a global perspe
 ctive.\n	Transdisciplinary projects that seek exchange with representative
 s of practice\, stakeholders and the general public (e.g. citizen science)
 . \n	The use of a wide range of data\, which is currently being generated 
 and collected on a large scale.\n	The participation of researchers from ou
 tside Germany (but the PI must be in Germany).\n\nDoes NOT support: viral 
 research or treatment of viral diseases\, the large-scale production of go
 ods (e.g medical supplies like face masks\, ventilators etc.) or infrastru
 ctural projects.\n\nFunding & Duration: max. € 120’000 (flexible use) 
 for up to 18 months.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: Salaries and project-related co
 sts (incl. funding for international partners).\n	Does NOT cover overheads
 .\n\nWho can apply: \n\n\n	Max. 3 applicants.\n	The PI must be a postdocto
 ral researcher or a professor in Germany.\n	Swiss-based researchers can re
 ceive funding as international partners. They must hold a doctorate degree
 \, a habilitation or a professorship appointment.\n\nDeadline: 4 June 2020
  at 2 p.m. \nStart of the project: as soon as possible\nNote: The Foundati
