DESCRIPTION:Aim: Facebook is issuing a call for academic research proposal
 s that addresses the economic impact of digital technologies\, including n
 ew tools that enable commercial opportunities. Facebook is especially inte
 rested in supporting projects that address the economic consequences and i
 mplications of developing digital technologies for small businesses. Topic
 s of interest for this request for proposals (RFP) include\, but are not l
 imited to:\n\n	measuring new types of economic impact — for example\, as
 sessing the implications of digital technologies for growth\,\n	resilience
  under challenging circumstances\,\n	inclusion of marginalized groups\,\n	
 efficiency of payment systems\, or other business outcomes.\n\n\nFacebook 
 is keenly interested in supporting broader research efforts in this topic 
 and therefore the scope of the RFP is not limited in application to Facebo
 ok apps and technologies. We encourage research teams around the world to 
 apply with proposed projects of an empirical and theoretical nature\; alth
 ough\, theoretical papers should also consider how measurements might be e
 mpirically estimated. Successful proposals will demonstrate innovative and
  compelling research that has the potential to advance science and underst
 anding in the topic areas and provide value to policymakers\, practitioner
 s\, and organizations working in these areas.\n\nFunding:         U
 SD $100’000\n\nDuration:        1 year\n\nEligibility:  The RFP i
 s open to researchers (faculty\, PhD students\, post-doctoral scholars\, e
 tc) from all disciplines. Awards must comply with applicable U.S. and inte
 rnational laws\, regulations\, and policies.\n\nHow to Apply: Applicants s
 hould submit a project summary detailing what contribution their research 
 is expected to make\, how the research domain will benefit from the work\,
  and a project timeline. In addition\, a budget description\, a CV for eac
 h involved researcher\, and organizational details should be included. For
  any assistance on the organizational details or tax information\, please 
 contact the Research Office. Budgets should be formulated to include 5% ov
 erhead (the maximum allowed in the program guidelines)\, as well as funds 
 for travel for the Principal Investigator (PI) to attend a workshop in Men
