DESCRIPTION:    Aim:  The Spencer Foundation invests in education res
 earch that cultivates learning and transforms lives. The Large Research Gr
 ants on Education Program supports education research projects that will c
 ontribute to the improvement of education\, broadly conceived. This progra
 m is “field-initiated” in that proposal submissions are not in respons
 e to a specific request for a particular research topic\, discipline\, des
 ign\, method\, or location. Our goal for this program is to support rigoro
 us\, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relev
 ant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in educati
 on.\n\nFunding:        max. $500’000\n\nDuration:      1-5 yea
 rs\n\nEligibility: Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs must have an e
 arned doctorate in an academic discipline or professional field or appropr
 iate experience in an education research-related profession. The PI must b
 e affiliated with a non-profit organization that is willing to serve as th
 e administering organization if the grant is awarded. Proposals are accept
 ed from the U.S. and internationally\, however\, all proposals must be sub
 mitted in English and budgets must be proposed in U.S. Dollars.\n\nHow to 
 Apply: The application process begins with an Intent to Apply form\, consi
 sting of a list of project personnel\, a proposal summary\, and project cl
 assification data.  Once submitted\, you will have access to the Full Pro
 posal application in our online form. The full proposal should include a s
 ummary of personnel\, a proposal summary\, a budget and justification\, a 
 proposal narrative\, and a project timeline. The full proposal requires th
