DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The ADDF seeks to support comparative effectiveness res
 earch\, prevention clinical trials\, and epidemiological studies that prob
 e whether the use or choice of drugs alters the risk for dementia or cogni
 tive decline.\n\nSpecifically\, the Prevention Beyond the Pipeline RFP sup
 ports:\n\n	Studies Leveraging the Consortium of Cohorts for Alzheimer's Pr
 evention Action (CAPA)\n	Comparative Effectiveness Research\n	Studies of C
 ognitive Decline and Cognitive Reserve\n\n\nCurrent target areas of intere
 st include:\n\n	Epigenetics\n	Inflammation\n	Mitochondria & metabolic func
 tion\n	Neuroprotection\n	Proteostasis\n	Synaptic activity and neurotransmi
 tters\n	Vascular function\n	Other aging target (e.g. senescent cells)\n	Ot
 her novel targets or pathways that are supported by compelling evidence de
 monstrating a rational biological connection to the disease process\n\n\nF

 n:      Multi-year\n\nEligibility: Funding is open to researchers and 
 clinicians worldwide at academic medical centers and universities or nonpr
 ofits.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlines for proposal submissions occur quarterly
 . Applications are reviewed in a two-step process: Letters of Intent (LOI)
  are the first step. ADDF’s science team will evaluate LOIs to determine
  whether the proposed project is consistent with the ADDF's mission and fu
 nding priorities. LOI decisions will be sent within three weeks of submiss
 ion. Step 2 is an invited full proposal\, which should include a detailed 
 project narrative\, budget and justification\, and biographical informatio
 n.  When formulating the budget\, note that the following costs are not c
 overed: Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication costs\, Equipment\, and Trav
