CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The aim of this request for proposals (RFP) is to devel
op biomarkers for which there is a clear clinical need in Alzheimer's dise
ase and related dementias.\n\nSpecifically\, this RFP focuses on:\n\n	deve
loping novel PET ligands for clinical use\n	supporting novel CSF biomarker
s\n	validating established MRI approaches in larger cohorts\n\n\nNovel bio
markers of neuroinflammation and synaptic integrity are considered high pr
iority. Other target areas of interest include:\n\n\n	Neuronal loss\n	Vasc
ular injury and blood-brain barrier integrity\n	Mitochondria and metabolic
  function\n	Protein misfolding/proteostasis\n	Oxidative stress\n	White mat
ter changes\n	Other novel targets supported by compelling biological ratio
nale and connection to disease\n\n\nFunding:        max. $600\,000\n
\nDuration:      1 year\n\nEligibility: Funding is open to researchers
and clinicians worldwide at academic medical centers and universities or
nonprofits. Industry partnerships are encouraged.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlin
es for proposal submissions occur quarterly. Applications are reviewed in
a two-step process: Letters of Intent (LOI) are the first step. ADDF’s s
cience team will evaluate LOIs to determine whether the proposed project i
s consistent with the ADDF's mission and funding priorities. LOI decisions
will be sent within three weeks of submission. Step 2 is an invited full
proposal\, which should include a detailed project narrative\, budget and
justification\, and biographical information.  When formulating the budge
t\, note that the following costs are not covered: Indirect costs/Overhead
 \, Publication costs\, Equipment\, and Travel.\n\nSummer Deadlines:
          10-July-20 (letter of intent)\n
                                    07-Au
 g-20 (full proposal\, by invitation)\n\nAutumn Deadlines:
    09-Oct-20 (letter of intent)\n
                              06-Nov-20 (full p
 roposal\, by invitation)\n\nFurther information\n\n\n	More information abo
ut the program is available here\n	Detailed application instructions are h
ere\n	The application portal can be found here\n	For any other questions\,
  please contact the Research Office\n
