DESCRIPTION:The Psychiatry Consortium is seeking project proposals which f
 ocus on the validation of novel molecular drug-targets for the following m
 ental health conditions: psychotic disorders\, bipolar disorder\, depressi
 on\, anxiety\, stress-related disorders\, PTSD\, OCD\, autism spectrum dis
 orders as well as psychiatric symptoms associated with dementia and other 
 cognitive disorders.\n\nThe Psychiatry Consortium intend to fund projects 
 which:\n\n	show some evidence that links the molecular target to human dis
 ease and of the target modulation having a therapeutic effect\, which can 
 be further developed or validated\n	will enable tools for target validatio
 n e.g. through optimisation of existing tool compounds to improve selectiv
 ity\, potency\, bioavailability\n\n\nProjects seeking to identify target m
 odulation biomarkers relevant to disease will also be in scope.\n\nWho can
  apply:\n\n\n	Applicants from academic institutions and other independent 
 research institutes worldwide in collaboration with the Psychiatry Consort
 ium members.\n	Applications from small companies (micro and medium) may al
 so be considered\, as standalone or in collaboration with an academic inst
 itution or research institute.\n\n\nFunding & Duration: \n\n\n	Projects wi
 ll be expected to last up to 3 years and the total eligible funding will b
 e between £200\,000 and £1\,000\,000.\n	The Psychiatry Consortium will c
 over 100% of eligible direct research costs associated with the project\, 
 including\, for example\, research funding for assay development\, screeni
 ng and medicinal/biopharmaceutical chemistry resources required to develop
  novel chemistry against the target\, and salary support for the applicant
  themselves or for research staff as appropriate. This applies for both ap
 plications from academic institutions and SMEs.\n	The Psychiatry Consortiu
 m will not fund indirect costs\, such as non-specific estimated costs\, in
 cluding estates costs\, library costs\, finance\, legal and HR costs.\n\n\
