DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Multiple Sclero
 sis Medical Research Program (MSRP) Awards. The MSRP Investigator Initiate
 d Research Award supports highly rigorous\, high-impact research projects 
 that have the potential to make an important contribution to multiple scle
 rosis research and/or patient care. Research projects may focus on any pha
 se of research\, excluding clinical trials. The rationale for a research i
 dea may be derived from laboratory discovery\, clinical trial results\, po
 pulation-based studies\, a clinician’s firsthand knowledge of patients\,
  or anecdotal data. Applications must include preliminary and/or published
  data that are relevant to multiple sclerosis and the proposed research pr
 oject..\n\nAll applications must address at least one of the Focus Areas a
 re listed at the end of this announcement.\n\nFunding:        max. $
 600’000\n\nDuration:      3 years\n\nEligibility: Applicants from in
 ternational organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and ther
 e are no citizenship restrictions. PI applicants must be independent inves
 tigators at or above the level of Assistant Professor (or equivalent).\n\n
