DESCRIPTION:In 2017 the State Secretariat for Education\, Research and Inn
 ovation (SERI) has renewed the Leading House (LH) mandate to ETH Zurich fo
 r bilateral collaboration with partner institutions in Asia. An important 
 element for this bilateral cooperation is fostering innovation and the app
 lication of research results to economy and society.\n\nThe third call for
  Innovation partnership grants will support the establishment of cooperati
 on between Swiss researchers from universities\, universities of applied s
 ciences or public research institutes with non-​academic innovation agen
 ts in China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan)\, Japan\, South Korea and mem
 ber states of ASEAN.\n\nThese agents can be corporates\, SMEs or start-​
 ups\, innovation parks or similar entities with a focus on applied science
 s or technical development.\n\nThe goal of the innovation partnership gran
 ts is to initiate long-​term partnerships with mutually beneficial concr
 ete outcomes (see page 1 of the call guidelines for examples).\n\nThe call
  is open to all scientific disciplines and fields of research.\n\nThe gran
 ts do not cover research projects\, salaries of doctoral students or excha
 nge of young researchers. For these activities\, please refer to the bridg
 ing grants or mobility instruments of the same bilateral programme.\n\nWho
  can apply: \n\n	All senior scientists of Swiss federal and cantonal unive
 rsities\, universities of applied sciences and universities of teachers’
  education\, as well as public research institutions\, are eligible to app
 ly. The Swiss scientist is the main applicant.\n	Innovation agent partners
  must be senior staff affiliated with a company\, start-​up\, innovation
  park or similar agency in one of the partner countries.\n	Universities fr
 om the partner country can participate as third parties.\n\n\nFunding & Du
 ration: max. CHF 20’000 for up to 12 months.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: salar
 y cost contributions are only permitted for the preparation of a joint pro
 posal to be submitted to a larger funding agency (i.e. National funding ag
 encies or EU funding schemes)\; travel (max. CHF 2K per trip)\; accommodat
 ion\; consumables\; equipment\; worshops.\n	A financial contribution of ea
 ch partner is expected and must be made explicit in cash and in-kind. \n	I
 ndustry partners must cover their own cost.\n\n\nDeadline: 30 July 2020\nE

 r in the year to which interested parties can also apply.\n
