DESCRIPTION:Fondation Leducq is a private charitable foundation\, based in
  Paris\, dedicated to improving human health through international efforts
  to combat cardiovascular and neurovascular disease. In support of this mi
 ssion\, Fondation Leducq has created the Transatlantic Networks of Excelle
 nce in Cardiovascular and Neurovascular Research Program\, which promotes 
 internationally collaborative basic\, translational\, and clinical researc
 h in cardiovascular and neurovascular disease.\n\nIn the 2020-2021 applica
 tion cycle\, the Leducq Foundation will award four Transatlantic Network o
 f Excellence grants\, each for an amount not to exceed USD 7\,000\,000 ove
 r five years.\n\nThe proposals should aim to generate new knowledge with t
 he potential to advance the diagnosis\, prevention\, and treatment of card
 iovascular and neurovascular disease. It should be high risk\, but not spe
 culative\, and oriented to long-term goals.\n \nWho can apply:\n\n	An int
 ernational team of 3-6 researchers\, affiliated with an academic research 
 centre worldwide\, having complementary multidisciplinary expertise and re
 sources.\n	The team must be led by 2 coordinators\, one based in Europe an
 d the other in North America.\n	The participation of an early-career resea
 rcher (from postdocs to recently appointed faculty) will be positively eva
 luated.\n	The network may include members from fields outside of cardiovas
 cular and neurovascular research\, such as other medical specialties\, phy
 sics\, engineering or information technology.\n\n \nFunding & Duration: u
 p to USD 7\,000\,000 over 5 years.\n\n\n	Eligible costs are presented at p
 . 7 of the programme guidelines.\n	Non-eligible costs\, including overhead
 s\, are listed here.\n	Applicants must show that other peer review funding
  has been secured.\n	No budget information is requested at the letter of i
 ntent stage. A budget is required only as part of a full application.\n\n
  \nDeadline:\n\n\n	Deadline for Letter of Intent: 3 September 2020 (apply
  via proposalCENTRAL\, following the programme guidelines\, the LoI instru
 ctions and the FAQs).\n	Deadline for Full Proposals: 16 February 2021 (onl
 y 8-14 shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal).\
 n	Decision: May – June 2021\n	Starting of the grant: 1 January 2022\n\n
