DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Peer Reviewed A
 lzheimer’s Research Program (PRARP) Awards. The PRARP Accelerating Diagn
 ostics for TBI Research Award supports high-impact\, human-based developme
 nt of robust diagnostic and/or prognostic biomarkers for chronic traumatic
  brain injury (TBI) as they pertain to Alzheimer’s disease and/or Alzhei
 mer’s Disease related dementias.  It is anticipated that the proposed w
 ork will qualify clinically useful biomarkers for rapid transfer to clinic
 al practice.\n\nThis  call encourages applications to consider fluid-base
 d\, imaging-based\, retinal or wearable devices as potential diagnostics. 
 Pharmacological interventions are specifically discouraged for this call. 
 Demonstration of access to an already existing cohort or provision of a pl
 an that demonstrates expedited participant accrual is required. All applic
 ations must be Impact-based.\n\nFunding:        max. $2’800’000\
 n\nDuration:      3 years\n\nEligibility: Applicants from internationa
 l organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no c
 itizenship restrictions. The PI must be at or above the level of assistant
  professor (or equivalent).\n\nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitte

 letter of intent (1-page)\, and a list of collaborators and key personnel
