DESCRIPTION:Second Call for Applications\n\nTo promote research and educat
 ion in cyber-defence\, EPFL\, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in
  Lausanne\, and the Cyber-Defence (CYD) Campus have jointly launched the 
 “CYD Fellowships – A Talent Program for Cyber-Defence Research.”\n\n
 CYD Fellowships are designed to promote new solutions to major challenges 
 in the fields of security and data science by bringing together basic and 
 applied research. They are open to researchers at master\, doctoral\, or p
 ostdoctoral level who are willing to engage with cross-cutting issues in c
 yber-defence\, with a particular emphasis on:\n\n	novel technologies for p
 rotecting the confidentiality\, integrity\, and availability of cyber and 
 cyber-physical systems\n	privacy-enhancing technologies\n	data science and
  artificial intelligence methods for analysing cyber- and technology-relev
 ant data\n	research on vulnerabilities and backdoors in digital systems\n\
 nThe CYD Fellowships are supported by armasuisse Science and Technology.\n
 \nWhat: 6-month CYD Master Thesis Fellowships (living allowance and resear
 ch funds)\n4-year (with a possible one-year extension) CYD Doctoral Fellow
 ships (salary and research and conference funds)\n(up to) 2-year CYD Disti
 nguished Postdoctoral Fellowships (salary and research and conference fund
 s)\n\nWhere: CYD fellows are hosted by a higher education institution in S
 witzerland and conduct their research at the CYD Campus located on the pre
 mises of EPFL and ETHZ and in its office in Thun. The CYD Campus is a cybe
 r-competence center acting as an anticipation platform for identifying and
  assessing technologies\, commercial and social cyber trends\, as well as 
 the resulting usage scenarios.\n\nEligibility: Citizens of any nationality
  can apply\n\n\n	CYD Master Thesis Fellowships: must be enrolled in a Mast
 er program at a Swiss higher education institution and receive the endorse
 ment of a professor willing to supervise you\n	CYD Doctoral Fellowships: m
 ust be accepted into a doctoral program at a Swiss higher education instit
 ution and receive the endorsement of a professor willing to supervise you\
 n	CYD Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships: must receive the endorsement
  of a professor at a Swiss higher education institution willing to supervi
 se you\n\nWhen to start: Within 6 months of the notice of the award\n\nHow
