DESCRIPTION:Aim:  In an effort to further address the unmet medical need 
 in COVID-19\, Gilead Medical Affairs is launching the COMMIT program.  Su
 ccessful projects should demonstrate clear objectives\, defined timelines\
 , a comprehensive operational plan\, and propose data that has relevance t
 o the medical community. Note: these projects will not have objectives/end
 points that overlap with studies that are known to be currently underway a
 s of the day of the approval of the proposal\, including those studies tha
 t are sponsored by either Gilead and/or third parties.\n\nGilead will cons
 ider support for research proposals that meet one of the following criteri
 a:\n\n	Expand data on clinical course and outcome in vulnerable population
 s\n	Long-term sequelae (i.e.\, pulmonary fibrosis\, neurologic\, cardiac\,
  quality of life)\n	Real world safety and effectiveness of remdesivir used
  alone or with other agents (JAK inhibitors\, IL-6 inhibitors\, convalesce
 nt plasma and ACE inhibitors and ARBs)\n\n\nFunding:        max. $25
 0\,000\n\nDuration:      6-9 months\n\nEligibility: Funding request fo
 r sole purpose of screening costs is not acceptable for COMMIT. Funding fo
 r or contribution of study drug is not acceptable for COMMIT. Gilead will 
 not consider proposals that requests remdesivir or other study drug.\n\nHo
 w to Apply: The first application stage includes submitting a Letter of In
 tent. The LOI should include a budget (<250K USD) inclusive of overhead co
 sts and applicable taxes. Contact the Research Office if you have question
 s on these figures. The research plan submitted with the LOI should not ex
 ceed 1\,000 words. The top applicants from the LOI stage will be asked to
