DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Chronic Pain Ma
 nagement Research Program (CPMRP) Awards. The CPMRP Investigator Initiated
  Research Award is intended to support studies that have the potential to 
 make significant advances in research\, patient care\, and/or quality of l
 ife. IIRA applications may involve any phase of basic\, translational\, an
 d clinically oriented research\, including studies in animal models\, rese
 arch with human anatomical substances\, and research with human subjects\,
  as well as ancillary studies associated with an existing clinical trial\;
  however\, this award may not be used to conduct clinical trials. Multidis
 ciplinary collaborations and innovative approaches are encouraged.\n\nTo m
 eet the intent of the award mechanism\, applications must address one of t
 he FY20 CPMRP Focus Areas\, which are listed at the end of this announceme
 nt.\n\nFunding:        max. $900’000\n\nDuration:      4 years
 \n\nEligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutio
 ns are eligible to apply\, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Inve
 stigators at or above the level of Assistant Professor (or equivalent) are
  eligible to be named as the Principal Investigator (PI) on the applicatio
 n.\n\nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platf
 orm. They should contain contact information\, a preproposal narrative\, a
 nd a list of collaborators and key personnel as suggested on the platform.
