DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Lupus Research Alliance seeks to fund biomedical re
 search that will discover better diagnostics\, improve medical treatments 
 and advance translational and clinical research that will ultimately lead 
 to a cure for lupus. The Lupus Research Alliance Global Team Science Award
 s will support interdisciplinary\, collaborative\, and highly synergistic 
 projects that push the boundaries of innovation and bridge research and cl
 inical efforts in lupus. The successful Teams will focus on unraveling hum
 an lupus heterogeneity by applying cutting-edge technologies to address cr
 itical questions that could bring about breakthroughs in lupus care\, rese
 arch or drug development.\n\nFunding:       max. $3’000’000\n\nD
 uration:      3 years\n\nEligibility: Applicants  must  hold  an  
 MD\, PhD\, DVM or  equivalent  academic  degree  and  hold  a  facu
 lty position  or  equivalent  at  a  college\,  university\,  medic
 al  school\,  or  comparable  institution. The Lupus Research Alliance
  does not impose geographic restrictions on its applicants and researchers
   working  outside  of  the  USA are  also  encouraged  to  apply
 . The consortium should also meet the following requirements:\n\n	The  co
 re  team  must  consist  of  at  least  three  but ideally not  m
 ore  than  five  Co-Principal Investigators.(Co-PIs)\n	One of the Co-PI
 s must serve as the corresponding Co-PI.\n	The core   team must   be 
   multi-disciplinary\,   and   it   is   encouraged   to   be
    inter-institutional  and/or  multi-national. \n\n\nHow to Apply: A
 pplications must be submitted electronically\, via proposalCENTRAL. A two-
 stage application process—bridged by a planning grant—will be employed
 . A Letter of Intent  (LOI) will be used to judge  the  significance\, 
 innovation and alignment of the proposed project concept with the Global T
 eam Science Award funding mechanism. Applicants with approved LOIs will be
  invited to submit a full application and will be provided a 4-month plann
 ing grant of up to US$10\,000 to develop the full proposal.\n\nDeadline:
