DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The purpose of this scholarship is to promote neuromusc
 ular clinical and translational research through fellowships to trainees a
 nd to promote the activities of the Muscle Study Group. It is funded by th
 e Muscle Study Group and American Brain Foundation\, in collaboration with
  the American Academy of Neurology. Scientists engaged in research that is
  “patient-oriented research conducted with human subjects\, or translati
 onal research specifically designed to develop treatments or enhance diagn
 osis of neurologic disease” are welcome to apply.  This includes epidem
 iologic or behavioral studies\, clinical trials\, studies of disease mecha
 nisms\, the development of new technologies\, and health services and outc
 omes research. Disease-related studies not directly involving humans or hu
 man tissue are also encouraged if the primary goal is the development of t
 herapies\, diagnostic tests\, or other tools to prevent or mitigate neurol
 ogical diseases.\n\nFunding:        $150’000 ($65K salary + $10K r
 esearch costs per year)\n\nDuration:      2 years\n\nEligibility: Reci
 pient must be pursuing an academic career in neurological research and hav
 e completed residency or a PhD no more than 5 years prior to the beginning
  of this award (July 1\, 2021). If you have completed both residency and a
  PhD\, your eligibility is based on when you completed residency. If you c
 ompleted a fellowship of any kind after residency\, your eligibility is st
 ill based on the date you finished residency. Recipient must attend the Mu
 scle Study Group’s Annual Meetings in 2021 and 2022. In 2022\, they will
  present their research.\n\nHow to Apply: Applications can be submitted on

 ch plan\, an NIH-style biosketch\, the names of two references\, and a nam
